Pipeline slurry, which is 49-50% solids by weight, is then transferred to Pump Station No. 1 for injection into the pipeline. Main line pumps are positive-displacement type, with electric motor drive. Typical discharge pressures are 650-900 psi (4.5 - 6.2 MPa).
